Understanding Your Pickup Schedule

We understand it can be frustrating when your trash hasn't been collected by your usual time. To help you better understand our operations, we’ve compiled answers to common questions regarding our pickup windows.

Why hasn't my trash been picked up yet? It’s already 9:00 AM.

While we strive for consistency, pickup times can vary significantly from week to week. Our drivers may arrive as early as 6:00 AM or as late as the end of the business day 2. Because routes are dynamic, we ask that all residents have their bins at the curb by a specific cutoff time (typically 7:00 AM) to ensure they aren't missed, regardless of when the truck actually arrives 67.

What causes the pickup time to change?

Several factors can influence the exact minute a truck reaches your home:

  • Route Adjustments: We occasionally modify routes to improve efficiency or accommodate new service areas 5.
  • Traffic and Construction: Road closures, detours, or heavy traffic can delay our drivers 11.
  • Weather Conditions: Severe weather may slow down operations for the safety of our crew 1.
  • Disposal Volume: On weeks with high trash volume (such as after holidays), it takes longer to tip and empty the trucks, which can push back afternoon schedules 4.

Does a holiday affect my pickup time?

Yes. If a major holiday falls on a weekday, collections for the remainder of that week are often pushed back by one day 312. For example, if a holiday is on Thursday, your Thursday pickup will occur on Friday, and Friday’s pickup will occur on Saturday 3.

Are there other reasons my bin might be skipped?

If the sun has set and your trash still hasn't been collected, it may be due to:

  • Obstructions: Cars parked too close to the bin can prevent the truck's mechanical arm from reaching it 8.
  • Overfilled Bins: Bins that exceed weight limits or have lids that cannot close may be bypassed to prevent equipment damage or litter 110.
  • Prohibited Items: We cannot collect hazardous materials or items not included in your standard service 1.

How can I stay updated on my schedule?

To avoid confusion, we recommend:

  • Using our mobile app or website: Enter your address to view your specific collection calendar and sign up for reminders 1315.
  • Reporting a missed pickup: If your trash was curbside by the deadline and was not collected by the end of the day, please report it through our online portal or customer service line 914.
